Haiku Films announces cast, set for San Francisco shoot.
(PRWEB) October 31, 2005 -- Haiku Films completed principal casting for the production company’s first narrative short “Soledad Is Gone Forever.” Carla Ohana Sánchez of Los Angeles joins the all-Latino cast as Soledad Gonzalez. Bay Area actors Carlos Baron, Gigi Guizado, Michael Torres and Araceli Marie Gonzalez, as the 8-year-old Soledad, round-out an exceptional cast. Haiku Films principal Mabel Valdiviezo wrote the powerful screenplay and will direct. Bay Area filmmaker Julie Rubio is producing. Principal production begins December 8 in San Francisco.
“Soledad Is Gone Forever” delivers a stirring psychological portrait of a 28-year-old Chilean exile who remains haunted by the Pinochet reign of terror more than two decades ago. As Soledad Gonzales struggles to regain her memory without losing her sanity, she returns to Chile hopeful of reclaiming her father’s remains and reconciling with the country’s violent past.
This film explores the long-term consequence of war and it’s effect upon many generations. “Soledad Is Gone Forever” gives voice to a global community of forgotten exiles, offers the universal hope of healing and delivers a resolve to prevent further violations of an individual’s human rights.
