The National Fundraising Group of Tupperware USA will sponsor a major fundraising event in an effort to fund Alzheimer's research.
(PRWEB) October 17, 2005 -- In an effort to fund Alzheimer's research, the Tupperware National Fundraising Group of Ohio will host a nationwide online Tupperware party. Twenty-five percent of all money raised with go directly to support Alzheimer's research.
Lisa Timko, Fundraising Manager with Tupperware, has experienced the painful affects of Alzheimer's disease firsthand. Her mother, now age 64, was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's at age 59. Knowing her risk of genetically inheriting the disease, Lisa decided to do something to support research in hopes a cure will be found before she and her five siblings reach their 50's and 60's.
As a senior staff member of the Tupperware National Fundraising Group, Lisa is challenging everyone who has been affected by Alzheimer's, whether directly or indirectly, to support the cause either through a Tupperware purchase or cash donation. "We can't just sit back and watch this disease destroy lives until it ultimately touches our own or, worse yet, our children's lives," Ms. Timko says. "A little bit goes a long way when we all do our part."
The National Fundraising Group of Tupperware, based in Cleveland, Ohio, will be donating 25% from each purchase made through their dedicated Alzheimer's Research website. Orders will be taken through November 30, 2005.
"People who want to participate in this fundraising event can purchase a quality product they need while supporting a very important cause," says Ms. Timko. "Our team isn't making any money on this fundraiser. All profit will fund Alzheimer's research."
