Intelligent Talking Alarm Clock Wakes You Up Early in Case of Bad Weather

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

The Talking Headline News Alarm Clock is computer software that wakes people up by speaking the current news headlines and their local weather report. If the weather is bad in their area, the alarm is triggered earlier. The alarm can also turn on a radio or room lights via an X10 interface.

Aurora, Ontario (PRWEB) November 2, 2005 -- Knowledge Probe Inc announces the availability of the second of a family of unique computerized Alarm Clocks for MS/Windows®. The Talking Headline News Alarm Clock (THAC) is directed towards home users who need that "special" wake-up call. This PC-based productivity tool uses the computer's voice to speak current news headlines, local weather and motivational quotations to its users.

What makes THAC different from other alarm clocks is its intelligence. THAC has two unique features - the ability to trigger an alarm earlier if the local weather conditions are inclement, and the ability to turn on room lights via an X10 interface. By monitoring RSS weather feeds from the internet, THAC will wake up its owners if the local weather is bad in their area. So if there is a blizzard or heavy rain, the news is spoken earlier, lights are turned on and people can get to work on time.

"I initially created this type of alarm to wake up my son in his college dorm room. Now, all people with computers in their rooms are ideal users of this simple tool", said Mark Kolb, President of Knowledge Probe Inc. Mr. Kolb further adds "Since we were already getting the news and weather from the internet, adding an early warning wake-up for bad weather was a no-brainer".

THAC recognizes weekends, holidays and days off to let its owners sleep in. In addition to speaking the news, THAC can activate an internet radio station or a real radio hooked to an X10 outlet.

Without a close predecessor in the software marketplace, THAC is being introduced after the success of Knowledge Probe's earlier alarm products - Free Cellular Alarm Clock and CellAlarm.

A 20-day free trial of The Talking Headline News Alarm Clock is available on-line from the Knowledge Probe website.
