The appliance automatically brings customer premise equipment (CPE) online according to the operator’s pre-set rules and dynamically configures CPE based on each subscriber’s unique selection of services. Supported CPE devices include: cable modems, residential gateways, and SIP or PacketCable multimedia terminal adapters (MTAs) and IPTV set top boxes. Before granting network access, the appliance can confirm the subscriber’s billing and service options through an existing customer service system.
