A Popular Fashion e-zine Acquired by Papierdoll.net

ThriftyChick.com a leading online magazine is acquired by fashion editorial website, Papierdoll.net.

(PRWEB) November 10, 2005 -- The chick has left the building, well virtually anyway. Longtime sale savvy girl about town known as the “thriftychick” has a new home in the big leagues. Now serving up her chick picks on the pages of Papierdoll.net, the fictional character developed by online public relations guru, Lizabeth Sorensen is settling in for a bright future.

ThriftyChick.com began in early 2003 bringing secret sales and fabulous finds to the masses via email newsletter and blog. Forbes voted the blog at Thrifty Chick a “best of 2005” this last August creating more media buzz and a swarm of interest among the fashion e-zine community. The success of the business model even sparked a spin-off website for mothers called The Daily Stroll in early 2005 which Sorensen will still own and operate. Among the interested parties, a well-known high fashion editorial website based in New York City, Papierdoll.net at http://www.Papierdoll.net. An undisclosed deal was struck and the world of high-end couture embraced secret sale shoppers for a perfect match. Women from all over the world can now shop on the “down low” at Papierdoll.net knowing that their favorite chick picks are updated daily.

About Papierdoll: Papierdoll is a diverse group of writers, artists and Photographers with a love of all things fashion. Started in May 2005 by fashion stylist Michelle Bell, Papierdoll consists of a monthly Internet magazine, a classifieds forum where users can buy and sell fashion goods from One another, and read the daily blog.

“Thriftychick is an important and well recognized brand/concept when it comes to Internet shopping. Papierdoll is recognized for it's unmistakable fashion sense on the Internet, it made logical sense for us to team up and serve both of our audiences with the best in fashion and savvy shopping." -Michelle Bell, editor-in-chief of PapierDoll.net

”I was beyond flattered that Papierdoll and it’s team of renowned editors would jump at the chance to run ThriftyChick. She is near and dear to me and I am happy to see her blossom”.
-Lizabeth Sorensen, Former editor-in-chief, ThriftyChick.com

The website at ThriftyChick.com shows a trace of the chick’s lively spirit and now bears a splash page to tell visitors to redirect to Papierdoll.net. ThriftyChick is now a fixture at Papierdoll.net and readers can sign up for a monthly newsletter of Chick Picks, read the daily blog, shop sample sales, a shop directory and pop over to runway reviews all in a few clicks.

Sorensen will have a consulting role although she will not be contributing on a regular basis. Advertisers and designers can contact Papierdoll editors directly through the website, and are encouraged to submit ideas for editorial. Press and media inquiries regarding the acquisition can be directed to 32Flavors PR at http://www.32flavorspr.com or p: 518.428.0921.
