New Tool Reveals Best Price Among Leading Online Photo Printing Services

Consumers can now quickly and easily discover the price of developing their digital prints with leading online services thanks to a special new calculator.

(PRWEB) November 14, 2005 -- Consumers can now quickly and easily discover the price of developing their digital prints with leading online services thanks to a special new calculator.

The free tool, which can be found at http://www.photocalc.com calculates the *actual* cost of printing 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10, including the shipping charge. Results from leading services are all displayed with the least expensive at the top.

“Basically, all of the different digital printing sites have similar quality and compete along the prices of printing, particularly 4x6 photos,” said the site’s creator, Andrew Wohlberg. “Some charge 12 cents and others 19 cents. The problem is that when you get to the checkout line, you get hit with a significant shipping charge. Suddenly, the 12 cent service isn’t always a better deal than the 19 cent service.”

Before the creation of the PhotoCalc, discovering the complete cost of printing online was time-consuming and difficult. Consumers would have to multiply the number of photos they wanted to print by the per-print fee. Then, they would either have to search the company’s site for a list of shipping charges or actually go through the check out process. By this time, after having spent the time uploading the photos and preparing them to be printed, few would be willing to switch services, even if they were shocked by the delivery charge.

Now, with the creation of the PhotoCalc, consumers can quickly and immediately find out what the complete cost of printing will be *before* they start the printing process.
