Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2005 - Siliconera (siliconera.com) a leading webzine dedicated to video games from around the world is going to donate all of its profits from their Dragon Quest VIII campaign to purchase gifts for Toys for Tots. By visiting Siliconera and clicking on any of the Dragon Quest VIII banners, you can help donate to charity.

“People who can afford to spend money on video games are fortunate enough to have some extra cash in their pockets. Some lucky children are going to get a new game this holiday season, and even luckier people are going to get a brand new Xbox 360. Nonetheless, there are too many unfortunate families, who don’t even have enough money to purchase a single present for their children” says Spencer Yip, the founder of Siliconera.

“This year is one of the worst in the United States, since we are still recovering from Hurricanes: Katrina and Wilma that left many homeless. While we can’t fix every problem in the world, we didn’t want to sit back and do nothing. I can proudly say that we are going to use 100% of the proceeds from our Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King campaign towards purchasing toys for the Toys for Tots, charity.”

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is published by Square-Enix that is well known in the United States for the Final Fantasy series. When asked why he chose Dragon Quest VIII for the promotion Spencer responded with, “First of all we were lucky enough to play the game which is an awesome title. Also, the game is about being a hero, who is out to save the world. We thought it would be neat, if we could bring out the hero in each of us by using the proceeds to make the world a better.”

Their goal is to reach at least 3,000 clicks by December 1st, 2005. It is a high aspiration that can be reached with your help by visiting Siliconera’s “Be a real hero with Dragon Quest VIII” page and click on the Dragon Quest VIII banner.
