Pimp My XBOX 360 - How Musync Helped Microsoft

Microsoft's XBOX team picked the Bhangra genre of music for their latest video game, Project Gothem Racing 3, for the roll-out of the new XBOX 360 console. Who would have thought?

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 22, 2005 -- Microsoft was looking for a new sound for Project Gotham Racing 3 for the new XBOX 360, and chose two tracks from musicians represented by Musync.

Dhamaal Soundsystem (www.dhamaalsf.com) had the two tracks that worked and the tracks are taken from their new Transitions EP. Dhamaal Soundsystem blends live South Asian instrumentation and electronic break beats. They’ve got a loyal following that stretches world-wide. They’re known for their amazing music and their evolving artistry as well.

Seb Jarakian, head of Musync® (www.musync.com) said, “We’re hoping this could be the start of a great relationship (with Microsoft). The gaming industry is a lot like the movie industry these days. Major release video games often cost as much as a feature film. The good news is, they have budgets for better music. I’ve always felt the music tells a lot about the quality of the game. Too many games have cheesy tracks to save money, but it cheapens the whole gaming experience. I think music is one of the least expensive ways to draw attention to a game.”

Musync also helped Konami with the music for a game trailer for their King Arthur game that was used at E3.

Musync, a San Francisco based company continues to work with Wildbrain an animation company, with tracks for ongoing eSurance TV spots. “The spots are very cool, and remind me of a high-tech, futuristic, video game”, said Jarakian.

Musync has also worked with Nokia N-Gage, Adidas through Chiat-Day, Safeway, Clorox Corporation and Visa through BlueWave Commumications,

“Musync specializes in cost-effective music that's of the highest quality,” Jarakian says. "We represent a lot of up and coming musicians and labels, but screen all of the music to make sure the quality is there before we sign them on.”

"We like to give young talents a chance, and frankly, their music is often as good, if not better then some top talent tracks, he said."

Started in 2001, music supervision and licensing company, Musync, signs independent musicians and labels with quality sound for licensing into all media – radio, television, video games, film/TV, multimedia and event production.
