In development for over a year, the Embellished Collection is reminiscent of the floral styles found in late 1800s décor, such as intricately flocked wallpapers and ornately adorned textiles, but with a modern, industrial perspective.
The foundation of the Embellished Collection is an elaborate, Victorian-inspired design photo engraved onto large stainless steel sheets. Jewelry in the Embellished Collection is created by cutting a section from the sheet to capture a small part of the overall design in each piece. Pieces are available in a brushed stainless steel design, a single enamel colour applied over the entire surface of the steel, or a two-toned finish achieved by hand painting a selection of the piece in automotive paint to reveal both a brilliantly coloured surface and the original etched steel. Jewelry from the Embellished Collection is available in eleven colours ranging from a vivid hot pink to a flat or glossy black, two new colours specially introduced for the Embellished Collection.
Inspired by trends in industrial design and architecture, Konzuk founder Karen Konzuk discusses the newest collection. “The Embellished Collection was born from the fascination I developed with the steel printing plates used by artists and commercial businesses. The appeal for me was is in taking an incredibly intricate, feminine style and giving it a very modern interpretation through the use of industrial-based materials.”
