TIMONIUM, MARYLAND (PRWEB) November 18, 2005 — Parents' Choice Foundation, the nation’s oldest nonprofit guide to children’s media, has some suggestions for toys that connect with kids. In the 2005 Parents' Choice Holiday Guide to debut today Parents’ Choice Foundation unveils its annual guide to toys that have staying power.

In an increasingly complex landscape of toys, Parents’ Choice Foundation advises doing a bit of homework. Parents who shortcut their shopping equipped only with lists of the “hottest” toys, may find kids cooling off after the initial WOW of opening the present. Parents’ Choice stresses the importance of thinking about the children on the gift lists. Pay attention to their interests, be it for example art, science, construction, etc. and shop accordingly.

Good toys connect with kids. They connect with a child’s mind as well as a child’s heart and make sense within a child’s world. Good toys are fun and are filled with possibility
“Good toys connect with kids. They connect with a child’s mind as well as a child’s heart and make sense within a child’s world. Good toys are fun and are filled with possibility,” said Claire Green, President of Parents’ Choice Foundation.

This season, imagination and invention reign. Science toys rock. Board games offer both comic relief and relentless concentration. Puppets are inventive. Building toys are flexible. The 2005 Parents’ Choice Holiday Guide, organized by ages, areas of interest and price, is filled with products (toys, books, music, software, DVDs etc.) that promote curiosity and awaken a love of learning.
