Visitors will have the option to post anonymously or as registered users, discussing topics such as treatment centers, physicians, school systems and protocols. Greaves, who has an autistic child of his own, said the site was born out of the frustrations he and his wife experienced themselves. He added, “After learning of our son’s disorder, we read everything we could get our hands on. However, we were missing the guidance and encouragement from people who understood our challenges. Support from family members and friends only goes so far. Sometimes, it’s necessary to receive help from someone who’s been in your shoes.”
In addition to the message boards, Autism Key will provide the latest news stories and information relating to autism spectrum disorders. The site’s primary focus will be to inform, equip and educate those seeking answers they cannot otherwise find. It’s goal is to compliment, not replace the help and assistance people are already receiving.
