English and French versions to be integrated for online search.

YPG’s adoption of WAND’s Local Search Taxonomy is a strong validation of the completeness, quality, and value of the vocabulary, as well as a signal of YPG’s commitment to deliver a state of the art experience in multiple languages to its YellowPages.ca™ users.
The English language version of the WAND Local Search Taxonomy contains over 750,000 relevant local search terms including products, services, brand names, and more that are organized into a flexible structure. Terminology was gathered from a rigorous analysis of major search engine query logs and meta-data in local search environments on the Internet. Mappings from the taxonomy to SIC codes and to a set of normalized YP headings allow easy integration into existing data within any local search platform.
