Argon Technology, a world leader in network booting solutions, today announced that Microsoft has adopted Argon Technology’s PXE Boot Agent® into the BIOS of Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, now available.

(PRWEB) December 7, 2005 -- Argon Technology, a world leader in network booting solutions, today announced that Microsoft has adopted Argon Technology’s PXE Boot Agent® into the BIOS of Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, now available. By incorporating Argon’s Virtual PXE Boot Agent, system administrators using Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 can use the same deployment tools to service both real and virtual clients, and to perform unattended operating system installation and system updates.

“Microsoft’s move is the latest from a mainstream technology company to bring the cutting-edge deployment options delivered by Argon’s PXE Boot Agent to a wider audience,” said Basat Khalifa, President, Argon Technology.

Microsoft’s move is the latest from a mainstream technology company to bring the cutting-edge deployment options delivered by Argon’s PXE Boot Agent to a wider audience
To perform deployment options, the BIOS-integrated PXE Boot Agent communicates with a LAN-based deployment server such as Microsoft’s Remote Installation Services (RIS) or Argon’s Client Management Services (CMS). The virtual PXE Boot Agent is enabled by changing the BIOS Boot Order of the guest OS – the same way you would on a physical PC.

Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 is the most cost effective server virtualization technology engineered for the Windows Server System platform. It delivers improved performance, high availability, and scalability for server consolidation, application re-hosting, disaster recovery, and software test and development. Microsoft will be offering Virtual Server 2005 R2 Standard Edition for $99 US estimated retail price and Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise Edition for $199 US estimated retail price. This new pricing represents Microsoft’s commitment to making server virtualization technology more accessible to customers at the lowest price point.

Argon’s Virtual PXE Boot Agent is also available for Microsoft Virtual Server 2005. Visit http://www.ArgonTechnology.com/virtual for details.
