Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Andrew Mark Klapper and founder of Outer Beauty Plastic Surgery and The Center for Short Scar Breast Surgery in New York City, has developed the Klapper Breast Simulation Session, increasing patient post-operative satisfaction.

(PRWEB) December 13, 2005 -- Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Andrew Mark Klapper and founder of Outer Beauty Plastic Surgery and The Center for Short Scar Breast Surgery in New York City, has developed the Klapper Breast Simulation Session. Patients are shown on their own bodies the surgical outcomes of different size implants by a technique of specially developed sizers and medical photography. This has resulted in a 0% dissatisfaction rate among patients regarding size.

“There is too little precision in matching what a patient verbalizes her proposed breast size should be by cup size alone or by showing clipped magazine photographs” says Dr. Klapper(http://www.outer-beauty.com/pages/about.html). “You just can never be sure that you are on the same page as the patient unless you physically show that patient on their body what the outcome will be.”

The simulated session involves taking front and side photographs of the patient clothed first in their natural pre-augmented state and then with soft sizers of different volumes. This simulates the additional volume added to the breast mound during surgery and can be reviewed through multiple side by side photographic comparisons. These are digitally printed for the patient to take home and consider the size change alone or with input from friends and family. A thoughtful decision for final size can accordingly be determined, and underestimation of desired size avoided.

According to Dr.Klapper, “It is the surgical planning that is the most important aspect of a breast augmentation. There are many excellent technicians but the artistry and patient satisfaction among breast surgeons is largely related to the preoperative decision process.”

Many referred patients walk in the door verbalizing the size of the implants their friend had placed. What they do not understand is that the same sized implant will affect different breast sizes differently. Older techniques of reviewing photographs brought in by the patient and discussing cup sizes are subjective. Cup size determination among patients and even among surgeons may not be the same between or within the group. It is therefore not an ideal method for surgical planning.

Andrew Mark Klapper, M.D. is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Manhattan who specializes in cosmetic breast surgery. He is the inventor of the widely used Klapper Breast Scissors and is the founder of Outer Beauty Plastic Surgery (http://www.outer-beauty.com) and the Center For Short Scar Breast Surgery(http://www.shortscar.com). He has had personal pieces in the New York Post, Fox 5 New York, Inc. Magazine and multiple media coverage on national talk shows, newspapers and radio.

Dr.Klapper is available for interview and invites members of the press to experience the Klapper Breast Simulation.
