Electronics and communications equipment retailer eGizmo.com reports that Motorola’s new Pink RAZR cell phone is its best selling product yet.

“Once we lowered the sale price of the pink RAZR for the holidays, all sales records were shattered in matter of days,” says eGizmo.com Vice President Joe Altin. “Our website has been getting a record number of visitors looking for the pink RAZR and our call center phones have been ringing off the hook in the past week.”
“We’ve never seen any phone or any other electronics sell this quickly and intensely,” adds Altin. When asked why he thinks there is such a buzz around the Pink RAZR, Altin responds that “it’s simply a conveniently shaped, feature-rich cell phone in a funky color that has generated mass appeal in the pop culture market. It doesn’t really have any upgraded bells and whistles vis-a-vis the black or silver versions, but it’s a vibrant pink, ultra slim and people really do love it.”
The retail price of the Pink RAZR right now is substantially higher than that of the Black or Silver version. Asked why this is so, Altin explains that “it’s simply the law of supply and demand. We, for example, pay more for these phones, and therefore we charge more for them, but there’s no artificial profit margin built in, and, as a result, our retail prices are extremely competitive.”
“Christmas shopping and our recently-reduced prices have obviously helped fuel demand,” reports eGizmo.com, “but we believe the public’s desire wont die down so quickly after the holidays and look forward to selling many more Pink RAZRs come January.”
