Recently launched DearFEMA.com catalogs visitor submitted complaints concerning FEMA, public officials, insurance companies, and other public and private agencies in wake of the recent hurricanes.

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) December 16, 2005 -- Online archive of visitor submitted open letters (DearFEMA.com) aims to shame public officials, FEMA, insurance companies, and others into doing the right thing.

Since December 6, 2005 DearFEMA.com has been posting visitor submitted open letters of complaint to FEMA, public officials, insurance companies, and other public and private agencies. The blog-style format allows visitors to submit letters and post comments on the letters of others. Complaints have been directed towards everyone from President Bush to truck rental companies.

“Just so the world knows, many of the employees working at FEMA DRCs here on the coast are victims just like you, and we can’t even get our money. or trailers. or anything else. The cycle is never ending.” said Mystery Guest, a FEMA employee and DearFEMA.com regular. http://www.dearfema.com/we-are-trying-our-best-to-help/

Excerpts from DearFEMA.com’s site information section:

“In the wake of the recent hurricanes one thing has become blindingly clear to many people. The only thing consistent with the dealings of many agencies and companies are their inconsistencies. From the very beginning, no one knew who was in charge or what the proper steps to be taken were. This haphazard way of dealing with the issues at hand has trickled all the way down into the recovery process. Getting relief funds from FEMA is as simple as filling-out an application for some people. Meanwhile, others (with the exact same application criteria) are given the runaround.”

“If you or a loved one were affected by the recent hurricanes and feel that you are getting ‘the short end of the stick’ from anyone this is the place to make it public. Submit your open letters and we will publish them. It is our hope that by bringing the stories of our visitors into the public eye we will shame public officials, FEMA, insurance companies, and others into doing the right thing.”
