The Charlotte Checkers and Roosters Men's Grooming Center have teamed up for a Holiday Campaign called "Grooming's Checkered Past". The campaign was concepted and developed by Charlotte marketing agency Asterisk Creative and features original photography, in-store posters and a unique, results-driven internet marketing strategy.
(PRWEB) December 1, 2005 -- Roosters made its Charlotte debut in July 2005, opening at Sharon Corners in South Park. In the first 3 months of being open, the Roosters Sharon Corners location averaged over 100 clients/week, and a new location is scheduled to open in Ballantyne Corporate Park on November 28, 2005.
Grooming’s Checkered Past: The Campaign
“Before Roosters became the Official Barber of the Charlotte Checkers, players sought advice on grooming from whoever was around, which often times was, well...Chubby,” says Checkers team president Jeff Longo. “Now that the Checkers have crossed the road to Roosters, we’ve put Chubby’s barber career on ice. Players are looking great and grooming-related accidents are at an all-time low.”
Roosters has given a Gentleman’s Choice Gift Card to each Checkers player. These rechargeable cards give players access to Roosters’ complete range of services, from haircuts and hot shaves to manicures and waxing.
“Staying focused for game day can get stressful sometimes,” says Checkers defenseman Rory Rawlyk, “and Chubby would do his best to help us relax, but having a mascot give you a shave with a hockey skate has its downside. The Beard Busting Hot Facial Shave at Roosters is a great stress relief that’s a lot less risky.”
The campaign, concepted and developed by Charlotte marketing agency Asterisk Creative, depicts a humorous view of life before Roosters Men’s Grooming Center became the Official Barber/Stylist of the Charlotte Checkers, featuring defenseman Rory Rawlyk, forward Lee Jacobson and mascot Chubby.
What’s In It For the Fans
Fans that purchase the Roosters Gentlemen’s Choice Holiday Gift Card will get two FREE tickets to a Checkers home game in the new arena. “The Checkers and Roosters share a similar audience and both are family-friendly,” says Roosters owner Larry Bonhaus. “Checkers games are a great option for those who want to experience the excitement of a great game in Charlotte’s newest sports venue.”
Roosters locations will feature an official “Checkers Station” where the players will get haircuts and grooming services performed. Checkers fans can get their haircuts in the Checkers Station, leave notes for the players and get tickets for games at the new arena at a deep discount. Roosters will also be sponsoring several intermission segments at Checkers games.
Additional Campaign Details
Both companies will feature campaign artwork on their websites and offer campaign content in their monthly email newsletters. The Checkers will carry grooming tips and exclusive specials from Roosters in the team’s Checkerline emails, which go out to nearly 5,000 fans monthly.
Roosters will feature players’ responses to fan letters in the company’s Roosters Report, going out to over 400 customers monthly. Roosters will also promote the campaign on sports-talk radio station WFNZ. Representatives from the Checkers, Roosters and Asterisk Creative will meet monthly to review statistics and measure the campaign’s success.
