As a result, users are receiving a false sense of security when relying on a privacy product solely designed for keyloggers. While many these products are very good at detecting or preventing keystroke recording, they do nothing against the vast array of other monitoring spy software including email redirectors & recorders, chat loggers, URL recorders and screen recorders. It is important that all computer users understand the overall threat and how best to protect themselves.
Similar to the confusion over advertiser spyware (adware) and monitoring spyware (surveillance spy software), users are often confused or totally in the dark regarding the complete surveillance spy threat. A keylogger is dangerous as it will record every key pressed while it is running, however, the other often misunderstood threats are just as, or more dangerous than a keylogger alone.
