FirstSalvage Inc. Awarded Small Business Grant from the Chicago West Side Entrepreneurship Center (CWSEC)

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 7, 2005 -- FirstSalvage Inc. announced last week it has been awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Chicago West Side Entrepreneurship Center (CWSEC), as part of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Entrepreneurship Centers program, Opportunity Returns. The award requires 100 percent matching funds from FirstSalvage, Inc. and will be used for corporate branding.

"This underscores that Chicago can be a leader with growing start-up companies," said Michael Quintos, President and CEO. "With seventy percent of all new jobs coming from small business, I applaud the CWSEC for committing to this goal and I am excited about the approvval of the business opportunity by such a distinguished panel."

The Chicago West-Side Entrepreneurship Center (CWSEC) was founded in June 2003 by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to serve as a catalyst for high-growth potential small and medium-sized business enterprises to develop into economically viable and sustainable companies that will grow and create jobs in Illinois. CWSEC offers comprehensive professional services, business planning assistance for start-up companies and awards grants to assist high-growth-potential Chicago businesses. CWSEC partners with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Chicago Community Ventures (CCV).
