The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation is a California Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation formed to assist newly licensed real estate agents to overcome their fears and obstacles. The goal is to facilitate them to become top producing sales people by providing quality guidance, education, products and services and thereby help raise the standards and levels of professionalism for real estate agents in general.

Aliso Viejo, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2005 -- Chosen from over 1,500 applicants in the 1st Season of the Real Estate Apprentice Grant program, 10 fortunate newly licensed real estate agents this week share grants totaling $125,000 in real estate education, products and services. The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation today announced that Kendra Shearer, a Georgia mother of three, was the overall Grand Prize Winner walking away with $75,000 in grants. First runner-up was Andy Bearden from Texas followed by Sheena Jones of Chicago each receiving $5,000 in grants.

I think that life is about how we handle things, and I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it," say Kendra. In demonstrating her winning attitude, and possibly spurred on by the disability of one of her own daughters, Kendra became a registered nurse. After steadily working her way up through the ranks of the nursing profession, she eventually became Vice President of Nursing. Kendras daughter Shannon was born with Spina Bifida, is confined to a wheelchair, and has had 46 operations while under Kendras care. Although Kendra doesnt like to characterize Shannons disability as an adversity, she admits that it was challenging not to sink into despair, anger, and bitterness.

Founder of The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation, Stefan Swanepoel, praised the quality of grant applications by saying: If this is representative of the next generation of real estate agents, the future of our industry is in good hands." According to Stephen Roney, President of First American Residential Group and one of the 12 judges, It was a remarkable field of candidates with tremendously varying backgrounds and Im confident that the finalists will all be successful because each one has a unique experience set that will compliment a certain segment of consumers."

The top 10 finalists included: Veronica Manderson of Arizona; Diane Goodnow of Georgia; Monica Palmer of North Carolina; Angela Smith of Georgia; Sara Nguyen of Texas; Mary Finley of Colorado and Daniel Fahey of Maine. Honorable Mentions include Carlos Rodriguez of Florida, Terry Stirling of Colorado, Starr Osborne of Pennsylvania, Vicki Heimerman of Kansas, Donald Helphrey of Arizona and Kristina Heavican of Nebraska.
