Volarefilms LLC, Announces the Start of Pre-Production of ‘Diablita

Volarefilms LLC enters pre-production of ‘Diablita, an action/comedy short about a screenwriters concept that goes south during a surreal development meeting when two fast-talking studio executives proceed to turn his script concept into a T&A laden, gun fest driven, car chase between two hot & sexy females, in order to conform to a Hollywood style commercial marketing strategy.

(PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- Produced and directed by award winning filmmaker Marco Santiago (El Trafico, Once Upon a Time in the Desert, Into the Border), and with an anticipated production start date of April 2nd, Diablita" will be shot as a 35mm short film project based on his 21 page script. Diablita marks my first comedy, says Marco. It is a welcomed, but temporary, relief from my more serious work, which until now, dealt primarily with social/political issue such as illegal immigration and the Border", he continues. Diablita fills a temporary void left after the cancellation of his previous short film project, 86, which is now being developed as a feature length film.

Diablita", Spanish for She Devil, is a satiric and surrealistic lampooning of the Hollywood development process, filled with irony, hints of double entendre, and hyper reality. The story, ironically, lives in the mainstream, delivering high action and high sex appeal, as two beautiful woman do battle in a running gun battle resulting from a road rage incident, as energetically described by two Hollywood executives bent on turning an artists screenplay into a Hollywood commercial hit. I like to think of the story as Swimming with the Sharks" meets Big Picture" meets Bad Boys II" with babes, Marco continues.
