SCB Solutions and Maosco Announce a New Version of SCB Access for Multos Cards

SCB Solutions, a US-based smart card solution provider, and Maosco Ltd, the secretariat of the open industry consortium that governs the Multos specifications, today announced the availability of a new version of SCB Access for Multos cards.

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) February 15, 2005 -- SCB Solutions, a US-based smart card solution provider, and Maosco Ltd, the secretariat of the open industry consortium that governs the Multos specifications, today announced the availability of a new version of SCB Access for Multos cards.

SCB Access is an affordable solution for Secure Logon and Single Sign-On applications. A user can access a PC or an application by inserting a smart card and a Pin code. With SCB Access, user names and passwords are securely encrypted and stored on a smart card. User names and passwords are then submitted automatically to the appropriate applications. Users need to remember only one password to unlock their smart card. All the others can be forgotten; no more need for unsafe stickies" to remember their passwords.

The integration of the Multos card is a major milestone for SCB Access. By integrating the most secure smart card platform in SCB Access, we can now provide the highest level of security to our customers," says Ronan Lapie, President of SCB Solutions. Beyond the security aspects, Multos is also the only platform that is able to fulfill the expectations of an open multi-application smart card: first, its architecture guarantees that Multos cards from different vendors will always work the same way, allowing multi-sourcing, then Multos makes it easy to add other applications from our Sm@rtsite offering or from any other third party providers," added Lapie.

Logical access applications will be the main driver in the smart card market in the US. SCB Access will allow us to strengthen our presence in this area," says Tim France-Massey, Business Development Director at Multos Ltd. SCB Solutions expertise and experience in developing and delivering integrated smart card solutions in several key vertical markets such as education, healthcare and insurance will broaden the scope of usage of Multos technology."
