Campfire Café TV Show Season Premiere

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Cooking over an open campfire is host Johnny Nixs specialty – and the new season premiere of Campfire Cafe takes this method of cooking to a whole new level with the introduction of open hearth cooking filmed at the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

(PRWEB) March 1, 2005 -- Open hearth cooking is certainly nothing new, but Campfire Café continues to promote this lost art as an entertaining activity for those seeking family-oriented recreation today. Open fire cooking is a life skill that everyone can enjoy and should be passed from generation to generation. Past series have featured open fire cooking while camping, at home in the backyard, at a Johnny Nix Cookin Camp, and now – over the open hearth.

The new 13-episode series premieres March 1 and also shares the legacy of American icon, Jack Daniel, and the heritage of the area that he was so instrumental in creating. Viewers will be surprised to learn that the values embraced and traditions started by Mr. Jack in the 1800s are still very much alive and that nothing much has changed in the way his famous brand is made today. Exploring the culinary heritage of open hearth cooking in this area would not be complete without a few recipes using the famous local product! Down-home cooking at this historic location, in a way that keeps one of our most valued, basic traditions alive, proved to be a winning recipe for this exciting new series.

The Campfire Cafe television series is entering its sixth season on public television and airs on over 100 PBS stations nationally. The series also airs on RFD-TV, channel 9409 on DISH Network and channel 379 on DIRECTV, PAX network affiliates and various cable networks.

About the Show:
Campfire Cafe is a weekly television series that focuses on two extremely popular outdoor activities – cooking and eating. Produced by EMG Productions, the show features a variety of gourmet recipes prepared and cooked outdoors over an open fire. Recipes are prepared in "real-time" and cooked using cast iron and the now famous Cowboy Cookware® designed by host Johnny Nix. The show encourages enjoyment of the great outdoors and empowers viewers to try open fire cooking by introducing meals not typically prepared outdoors in an engaging and entertaining manner. This wholesome, family-oriented program appeals to viewers of all ages, both male and female, from all economic backgrounds and all walks of life. Everybody has to eat; it's where and how you cook a meal that makes eating fun!
