Mary has also written Cooking on the Lewis and Clark Expedition", as well as five other books that bring American history alive through cooking. The goals of her work parallel those of Campfire Café and are a welcome addition to the series.
"We are delighted to be working with Mary Gunderson in order to present our viewers with authentic recipes that were actually prepared on the famous expedition", says Pamela Alford, executive producer.
Country music artists will assist Johnny Nix in the outdoor preparation of Marys authentic recipes from the famous expedition. In keeping with the outdoor spirit and historic nature of the program, the series will be filmed on location at the picturesque Hank Williams Estate, home of Jett Williams, in rural Tennessee. In addition to Campfire Cafés uncommon cooking methods, viewers will be further entertained by music videos from the featured artists in each episode.
Recipes from the historic Lewis & Clark Expedition will help remind us that cooking is a basic life skill we need to pass on to the next generation. Inviting Country Music artists to help with the cooking will compliment the unique entertainment value of the program.
