Altercept Keeps Up the Fight Against Repetitive Web Surfing

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

With the release of version 3.1.4, Web automation specialist Altercept keeps on improving its key product. Avoiding wasting time in repetitive Web surfing is easier and easier.

(PRWEB) March 7, 2005 -- Few software products are published that allow automated retrieving of web pages. Among them, The Easy Bee is probably the most user-friendly and the most suitable for professional needs, typically for employees who visit password protected web sites on a day-to-day basis.

User-friendliness of The Easy Bee is achieved by carefully avoiding technical jargon in its graphical user interface. The product also makes use of an intuitive metaphor: competitor products would have call them "web macros", "internet macros" or "http requests", The Easy Bee simply lets you create Honeybees that fly and gather web content on your behalf.

This original approach actually hides a powerful web macro technology that gives The Easy Bee a unique set a features, namely automated web surfing, data extraction and aggregation of extracted data.

The process of creating a new Honeybee is kept simple. The user teach a Honeybee where to click and what to enter in form fields, and the Honeybee will diligently reproduce these actions at a frequency chosen by the user.

Data extraction is convenient for the user to keep an eye on useful data while getting rid of useless navigation menus, advertisements and sponsored links. The user defines through an interactive process an area of interest that will be cut out of the target page by the Honeybee.

Aggregation offers users a convenient way to keep multiple web pages at hand. For example they can choose to compose one page with email accounts, another page with bank accounts and a third one with financial data.

The Easy Bee relies on a technology developed by Altercept that makes it able to handle every trap of the web such as cookies, dynamically generated pages, JavaScript, popup windows, security alerts or file downloads.
