Diet book author discusses misconceptions of carbohydrates and alcohol with radio and television host

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 9, 2005 -- Bob Skilnik, author of The Low-Carb Bartender: Carb Counts for Beers, Wine, Mixed Drinks and More (ISBN:1-59337-253-1, Adams Media, $9.95) will be making an appearance on 'Supermarket Guru' Phil Lempert's radio program this Sunday, March 13, at 3 P.M. Eastern time. Lempert is the food trends editor and correspondent for NBC News' TODAY Show where he reports on consumer trends, food safety, money saving tips and showcases new products. His 'Shopping SmartŪ' is a weekly live call-in radio show on the WOR Radio Network and airs in over 100 cities nationwide including WOR's flagship New York station, 710AM.

Skilnik, who recently appeared on ABC's 'The View,' ESPN2's 'Cold Pizza' morning show and Fox News Live with his first book on the subject of low-carb dieting and drinking, The Drink Beer, Get Thin Diet, will be handing out complimentary copies of his book to call-in listeners who can correctly answer questions related to adult beverages and carbohydrates.

"I'm happy to get the word out on such a popular radio program such as Phil's and talk about moderate drinking and low-carb diets," says Skilnik. "The Low-Carb Bartender book is the only single-source reference book for the carbohydrate counts of close to 1000 beers, 400 wines, liquors, and liqueurs. Whether youre on Atkins, South Beach, Protein Power, or your own interpretation of a low-carb diet, or just following a controlled- carbohydrate lifestyle, theres something in The Low-Carb Bartender for all of you!"

More information about the 'Shopping Smart' radio program and Skilnik's upcoming appearance can be found at http://www.supermarketguru.com/page.cfm/1
