Indie Label Debut Produced By Major Label Producer!

(PRWEB) March 14, 2005 -- Bad Habit/Jetspeed Records are proud to announce the international release of Life Is Too Short, a new EP by Los Angeles artist Andy McCutcheon, produced and engineered by triple Grammy nominated producer, Brad Gilderman. Known for his work with legendary artists such as Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, X, Motley Crue and Tom Jones, Gilderman has also worked with current pop icons such as Madonna, Britney Spears, and Destiny's Child. Here, Gilderman hones McCutcheon's retro-inspired eclecticism into razor-sharp focus, producing a sound that is at once innovative and classic.

Currently available at www.jetspeedrecords.com, Life Is Too Short will soon be in major retail stores throughout the United States and Canada, as well as on most major Internet retail sites, including Amazon.com and itunes.com. McCutcheon is currently completing a full-length album with Gilderman, scheduled for released in fall 2005 on Bad Habit/Jetspeed Record. With bristling cynicism, surrealistic wordplay, and a decidedly postmodern veneer couched in eclectic song arrangements, Life Is Too Short tears through rocks back pages to create a distinctive impression that is reflective, stylish, twisted, and captivating.

McCutcheon's gift for melodic hooks and his uncanny ability to emulate classic rock heroes (early David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Ian Hunter & The Doors) adds up to a collection of original glam-edelic tunes!
From the freewheeling jangle-pop of Hello," to the angular new wave stylings of The Cars' classic My Best Friend's Girl," to the musing junkyard balladry of the title track, Life Is Too Short," Andy McCutcheon exudes irony and passion.

Akin to the artistry of Elvis Costello, XTC, Phantom Planet, Robyn Hitchcock, Lloyd Cole, Syd Barrett, and Brian Wilson, McCutcheon tantalizes the senses with an array of emotional depth, a whirlpool mixture of instrumental textures, and astute observations of the human condition molded into splashing pop melodies.

"McCutcheon's gift for melodic hooks and his uncanny ability to emulate classic rock heroes (early David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Ian Hunter & The Doors) adds up to a collection of original glam-edelic tunes!"

"Great CD! Keep up the good work!"
- Ray Manzarek of The Doors

Label President Courtland Tyler says that advance orders for this CD EP exceed any artist in The Label's History!

" We are, for obvious reason, planning on setting sales records for JetSpeed Records( and its new Sub-Label, built around Andy McCutcheon)and Bad Habit Records."
