Bridging the gender gap is critical as businesses risk losing or underutilizing women. The Scottsdale National Gender Institute's new elearning gender awareness course reveals the gender-related misunderstandings that create the gap.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 20, 2005 -- Scottsdale National Gender Institute TM today released its new e-learning program Bridging Gender Differences©." Designed for employees and managers, the course reveals the gender-related misunderstandings that create obstacles to communication, teamwork, productivity and employee retention.

Bridging the gender gap is critical as businesses risk losing or underutilizing women, who now comprise 50 percent of the professional and managerial ranks," says Leslie Jenness, executive director of Scottsdale National Gender Institute TM. Companies cant afford to have women leaving in droves or contributing less than their full potential."

Available on demand with unlimited use for a 30-day period, the one-hour course provides a cost-effective, self-paced introduction to gender diversity awareness for men and women. The online program includes recorded instructor-led content, interactive exercises, downloadable tools, and a retention test. Other tools enable human resource managers to track course completion and to identify employee perceptions of diversity in the workplace. Price ranges from $149 to $295 per seat based on the number purchased, or the course can also be leased for unlimited use.

As a stand-alone program or the foundation for broader gender diversity initiatives, Bridging Gender Differences©" is designed as a first step in creating a third culture" in the workplace where men and women work together effectively and productively.

Since 1994 Scottsdale National Gender Institute TM has helped businesses in the private and public sectors establish a working environment that fosters understanding, respect and equity for men and women. The Institute provides consultation, certificate programs, mentoring, coaching, train-the-trainer programs, and e-learning courses from its online Diversity Academy TM.
