Xanthus Higher Education Loan Program to Open Colorado Springs Office

The Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation is pleased to have assisted Xanthus Higher Education Loan Program with their decision to open a new Colorado Springs office.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) April 6, 2005 -- The Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation is pleased to have assisted Xanthus Higher Education Loan Program with their decision to open a new Colorado Springs office. Xanthus is a progressive, multi-faceted financial organization that assists in educational debt management, private student loan allocation and federal consolidation loan programs.

The move to Colorado Springs enables Xanthus to benefit from a large pool of qualified candidates that is essential to its continued growth. The new office will target market the West coast of the US which has, up to this point, been largely untapped by the company. Initially Xanthus will be offering 24 employment opportunities and has plans to increase this number to 100 new jobs by year end.

We are extremely confident that this move to Colorado Springs is the right decision," said Jim Zach, President and CEO of Xanthus. We need to expand our workforce to meet the future growth we see for our company in this industry; Colorado Springs is ideally situated and suited to meet those needs."

"We are excited and proud to have Xanthus choose Colorado Springs for its new operation center," said John Cassiani, Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation's Executive Vice President of Marketing. "This is an aggressive and dynamic company which will fit well with the energy and growth potential of Colorado Springs."

Founded in 2002, Xanthus Higher Education is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida and employs over 120 people. As part of the companys progressive thinking and philosophy of giving back to the student educational community, it is the proud sponsor of the prestigious college baseball award, the Xanthus-Dick Howser Trophy. The award is presented annually to the premier college baseball player in the country. Associated with the award Xanthus also provides over $70,000 in scholarships and educational funding.

The Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation is a 501c-6 not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing primary jobs to Colorado Springs residents. Fully funded by donations from the community, EDC has assisted in the creation of more than 90,000 jobs since its inception in 1971.
