Amidst more secrecy of what has now become one of the most guarded plotlines in Bollywood, New York Actor Thomas Tevana has zipped through an audio theatre to complete Voice-Over and ADR for the highly anticipated release of the U.S. based Bollywood film "Jo Bole So Nihaal" with Sunny Deol...
(PRWEB) April 12, 2005 -- The New York based actor Thomas Tevana has finished his part in the post-production of the upcoming feature film 'Jo Bole So Nihaal.' "The film looks fantastic," the New York based actor Thomas Tevana commented upon his departure from Bombay airport.
"I finally got to see the edited version of "Jo Bole So Nihaal," since simply due to logistical reasons, I was the first one to do the voice-overs and dub it. And it looks understatedly slick!" he emphasized. "I was really impressed with how good the editing was. Later on, I found out that our director Rahul Rawail had actually locked himself in for a month and edited the whole film alone and himself without any assistants," Tevana said.
The actor, who plays the supporting lead to Sunny Deol in the film, went on to elucidate, "I just finished dubbing the film in Bombay (known as a heavy form of 'ADR' in the west) and since it was my first time dubbing an entire film - because in the US we record the dialog on the set - I had specifically requested our director Rahul Rawail to give some instructions as to whether he wanted Bollywood Melodrama or Natural Hollywood (by now I had seen about six Hindi films). He said to be "as natural as the original..." And I went with that. I think I'm ready to do animated features now," quipped the actor and singer.
"Sunny Deol's performance is a real 'punch-out' in this film," He says, "I think the film's producer Bubloo Pachisia is really being polite when he says that the film is an 'entertaining and choppy roller coaster ride.' This film is packed with action and topped with comic veneers never before seen in a Bollywood film shot in the U.S."
"While filming in New York and Miami, I think we were all wondering who this talented yet humble Bollywood star was..., but this film will really solidify Sunny's [Deol] position as an international star to reckon with," the American actor added. "Acting is not an easy job - and I had not seen any of his nor Rahuls films prior to filming this project; but now having seen some of Sunnys earlier work since we wrapped, one can really see the range of elements and the layers of subtleties that he brings to his performances."
Tevana, who was trained in the craft by some of New Yorks most respected teachers, plans to stay in Dubai and the Subcontinent until the film releases on the 13th of May. He then returns to the U.S. later this year to start principle photography on his recently announced projects "Access Denied" and "My Mother's Baby," and pursue the charitable interests that he states have always been close to his heart, in particular those related to doing goodwill development peace work for the United Nations, which he said he has always felt "include some very important, but rather unknown or unpopular causes," such as concerns ranging from Landmine Clearance to efforts for the Homeless to HIV/AIDS.
The actor has previously been involved in raising funds for similar projects for The Rockefeller Foundation and The Prince's Trust in England, but hopes to now take a more active part in projecting these issues.
"I do feel that I am in many ways a hybrid of many origins, cultures and timezones. But I am and always will be a grandson of the United Subcontinent, a National of the United States, and a Citizen of the World," he said.
