(PRWEB) April 16, 2005 -- C-Search today announced the release of C-Search and C-Search for Domino.Doc R1.1. - C-Search brings for the first time web crawling techniques to the Domino domain allowing organizations to build a fast and lightweight index of quality materials. Unlike web crawlers however, C-Search has built in design and location awareness to ensure users are presented with meaningful results and to guarantee that users are always routed to the nearest instance of information from the search results.

Core product features include:
• Ability to search any number of databases at once, including multiple Domino.Doc libraries across multiple servers.
• User-friendly search supporting the browser and Notes Client.
• Ability to sort and refine results.
• Launch documents, attachments and open databases from search results.
• Step through document summaries from search results without losing focus on result set.
• User favorites feature with built in notifications.
• Full respect for document security. Users only see the documents they have rights to see.
• Built in news reader.

New features offered in R1.1 include:
• Pass through support. Other systems can now make use of the C-Search index as a key source of Domino information. C-Search will automatically detect external referrers and route users through to source materials bypassing the C-Search summary pages.
• Mobile support. Users can now search the index off line using the Notes client or a web browser.
• Improved setup facility including a region wizard to allow C-Search to automatically detect regional information held in the Domino directory.
• Improved support for Netscape.

C-Search is ideal for medium and large organizations with multiple servers but its user-friendly interface is equally suitable for smaller environments. Being a distributed index, C-Search brings awareness of information to users at all locations regardless of where the source materials actually reside.

Index contents can be configured to meet the specific needs of each business. Indexing responsibilities can be shared amongst any number of servers removing the need to invest in a central index server.

C-Search products will run on any Domino server R5.01 or later regardless of platform and are licensed to an organization, not by server. This makes C-Search the most cost effective way of searching the Domino domain.
