She: A Novel by James J Caterino has just been released by iUniverse and has been awarded the Editor's Choice designation.

(PRWEB) April 25, 2005 -- She: A Novel, the latest book by Gunner Star author James J Caterino, is now available from iUniverse publishing. The novel has been awarded the Editor's Choice designation by the publisher, meaning that the book has recieved an enthusiastic, positive review from an outside, independent professional reviewer.

The newly released "She" is the thrilling story of one man's dark journey into the forbidden mysteries of the past as he searches for the woman who saved his life twenty-two years ago.

The pulpy, cinematic-flavored novel is a unique combination of eroticism, supernatural mystery, and science fiction. The author says the book has a wide range of influences, including the early films of David Cronenberg and Brian DePalma, the paperback pulps of the 1960's, and the author's own past. Caterino's highly-detailed, visual writing style has been described as "erotic noir".

"I try to write on instict, to filter out as little as possible. I want to try and keep the creative energy, that initial spark of magical inspiration, as alive as possble in the final book," Caterino says. "There is a phrase in the book that says 'emotion is the key'. I really beleive that, and for me at least, emotion is the key to good storytelling."

Caterino is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh College of Arts and Sciences. He is the creator of several motion picture screenplays including the so far unproduced horror script "Steel Phantom" and the 2003 People's Picture show semi-finalist "Lightwave". Caterino is also the author of the underground cult novel, Gunner Star: The Story of One Man's Escape From Reality.

The author is currently working on his next novel and is also writing and directing "Super 8 Images", a short film based on a chapter in the novel "She".
