Herndon, VA (PRWEB) May 2, 2005 -- The Brian Bedell 2-Young Foundation announced today that it is holding the 10th Annual Northern Virginia WiffleŽ Ball World Series on Saturday, May 21 at Word of Grace Athletic Fields, formerly Old Redskins Park, in Herndon, Va. Other events include Kids World, where children and their parents can enjoy moon bounces, carnival games, face painting and a clown, along with a raffle, and Home Run Derby competition with prizes for both players and spectators.

The enthusiasm and support weve received for Brian and his battle against brain cancer has been overwhelming," said Mike Ryan, chairman of the Northern Virginia WiffleŽ Ball World Series. We are so excited about this event. Not only will we raise money to fight brain cancer, but also we will have a fun-filled day full of love and support for Brian and those afflicted with brain cancer."

A native of northern Virginia, Brian was diagnosed with a grade IV glioblastoma brain tumor on Sept. 8, 2003. Since that time, Brian has been forced to leave his job at the American Red Cross to courageously battle this disease. To date, Brians treatment has included four craniotomies, radiation, chemotherapy and participation in experimental clinical trials at The Brian Tumor Center at Duke University.

Brian and his wife Amy established The Brian Bedell 2-Young Foundation in 2004. The mission of the foundation is to help find a cure for brain cancer. The Brian Bedell 2-Young Foundation is a positive force for other patients dealing with a brain tumor diagnosis and strives to help other patients and their families deal with this formidable opponent.

His friends and family, inspired by Brians incredible spirit, have worked together to create the Northern Virginia WiffleŽ Ball World Series in his honor. Through events like the Northern Virginia WiffleŽ Ball World Series, Brian and Amy hope to raise the funds necessary to spread the same courage and faith that has touched their entire support network.
