Documentary Tribute Salutes the Volunteers of 9/11/01

A 9/11 documentary with no political agenda — no conspiracy theories — just candid talk and chilling images offered by emergency personnel and volunteers who served at Ground Zero.

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- Volunteer rescue personnel, who served during the World Trade Center disaster, come together to share their stories in a new feature length documentary entitled "Answering The Call: Ground Zeros Volunteers." The digital film is produced by Delaware-based Chesca Media Group LLC for international distribution.

"Answering The Call" recounts the untold story of life at Ground Zero following the collapse of the twin towers. The film describes how many self-made leaders were born and the inspiring teamwork displayed by thousands of strangers who came together as brothers and sisters.

Through never before seen footage, filmed by former firefighter Lou Angeli, the viewer is transported behind the checkpoints into an emergency village that became home to thousands of volunteers and rescuers. During the dozen or so interviews, that serve as the thread for the film, volunteer rescuers and support personnel explain what prompted them to respond to Ground Zero.

"It was a calling…zip, zip and there I was in New York City," says Tim Dowling, a southern California firefighter who traveled cross-country to assist at Ground Zero. Other volunteers from throughout the nation recall their tours of duty in lower Manhattan during the tragedy.

Answering The Call" is vastly different from 9/11 documentaries that have gone before it. The film treats the disaster with reverence and respect, but proudly pays tribute to the men and women, who served at Ground Zero during Americas darkest moment.

The program is produced for Chesca Media Group by Patricia Olesky, Bunny Dubin and Lisa DiNardo. Film distributors, programmers, agents and members of the press can request a demo screener of this new documentary by contacting Chesca Media Group.
