Project Father's Day helps churches everywhere encourage and equip men to be more effective fathers, husbands, and leaders.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- Mike Ellis is excited about Fathers Day this year. But not because hes getting a new tie or a bottle of cologne – hes excited about a book. For the 2nd year in a row, Covenant United Methodist Church in Port Orange, FL, where Ellis is a Mens Leader, is handing out free books to men in the church as part of the Project Fathers Day campaign from Orlando-based Man in the Mirror.

A major success in recent years, Project Fathers Day was started to help men find the meaning and purpose in their lives by giving them a free book, and now churches throughout the country are set to distribute over half a million books on Fathers Day as part of the 2005 Project Fathers Day effort.

Thats why were excited for churches to have the opportunity to give away a book like Dad in the Mirror this year.
Patrick Morley, founder of Man in the Mirror and author of more than 11 books for men, including the new title Dad in the Mirror, is amazed at the changes hes seen since the first Project Fathers Day. When we began the campaign, we had no idea how many men would be reached," he says. The stories we hear about changed lives are overwhelming".

Ellis agrees, attributing recent growth in attendance at his churchs mens meetings to the program. [The book The Man in the Mirror has had a significant impact on men and caused them to stop and consider their faith and their priorities," he says, noting that they now have men meeting weekly as a result of handing out the book The Man in the Mirror.

David Delk, president of Man in the Mirror and co-author of Dad in the Mirror, says Fathers Day is the perfect time to ask men to stop and think about their roles as fathers. We help men see that getting their kids to perform or straighten-up is only a temporary fix, we need them to see that its their childrens hearts that matter." Thats why were excited for churches to have the opportunity to give away a book like Dad in the Mirror this year."

Other titles offered for Project Fathers Day: Morley-authored The Man in the Mirror, Dad in the Mirror and Devotions For the Man in the Mirror, Ordering Your Private World by Gordon MacDonald, along with Chuck Colsons Loving God, Bob Bufords Halftime, and finally Beneath The Surface by Bob Reccord.

For 15 years, Man in the Mirror has focused on reaching men with practical messages of faith, priorities, and values. In the last 5 years, over 5 Million men and women have received a book at church, or from a friend through programs like Project Fathers Day and Mission: Mothers Day.
