The Worlds First Email Application Server Software Suite

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

For nearly a decade traditional email server software, a.k.a. SMTP Server, has been used to communicate with other, recipient servers, to send and receive email messages. The primary problem is that these older communication technologies were meant to send emails one at a time, not by the thousands and especially not by the millions. That would have flagged senders as spammers beyond doubt.

(PRWEB) May 29, 2005 -- ActivSoftware (http://www.activsoftware.com) today released a suite of email server tools. The firm announced a unique enterprise offering of both an email server and an email lists management system bundled into one solution. In addition, this suite acts as its own server application. This email system provides businesses with the ability to tap directly into enterprise customers databases to better interact with customers. The bundle is available for download at a cost starting under two thousand dollars (USD) and ranging upwards to twenty thousand dollars (USD). The price is based mostly on throughput, in emails per hour.

The most significant feature set is the way the server handles email delivery differently from the standard SMTP email servers. According to Gary Kraeger, CEO of ActivSoftware, Our email server suite represents a turning point in the email industry. Our systems are written in Java and use the asynchronous routing core, or ARC, technology. In laymens terms this makes the system the most flexible and efficient server system available."

The owners claim the system will ensure that email campaigns do not offend major ISPs, such as YAHOO or AOL, by trying to send too many emails in a given time. The system senses delivery and if, for instance, emails begin to get delivered to say YAHOOs spam folder, it will pause the campaign and allow for adjustments. Kraeger continued, The system ensures it takes minutes, not DAYS, to add processes such as a Norton virus scan. It also nearly guarantees delivery, and reads, by connecting directly to your firms database to provide very detailed and personalized messages. One example is this: Those who purchased a particular line of golf balls will get specialized content with a specialized offer for the same line of golf clubs."

Pricing ranges upwards to about twenty thousand dollars (USD) for throughput of about one million emails per hour. ActivSoftware has tested the software systems on low-end computers reporting they were able to send a million messages per hour using a P3 with only 256M of RAM. This was also accomplished using a T1 line which indicates that the bandwidth is much lower than that which would have previously been necessary to attain this speed.
