Marina Plastic Surgery Combines Fraxel Laser and ThermaCool Radiofrequency Technology to Fight Signs of Aging with Minimally Invasive State-of-the-Art Treatment Package

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 31, 2005 -- Two of the most exciting and groundbreaking procedures to hit the Anti-Aging scene are now being administered in combination at Marina Plastic Surgery, a Southern California medical center focusing on rejuvenation and cosmetic enhancement. Fraxel, a nonablative laser treatment that improves skin texture, tone and coloration and ThermaCool, a face-lift" treatment that uses radio frequencies instead of incisions to tighten skin and revitalize faces, are now being offered together to achieve synergistic benefits.

On their own, these treatments harness the latest advancements in light- and radio-energy aided facial rejuvenation. Not only do the procedures provide excellent results, neither requires traditional surgery. There are no incisions, no sutures, and no long recovery periods. Both treatments target mid-level and deep skin layers to stimulate collagen regeneration, tightening slack skin, smoothing wrinkles, improving skin tone and minimizing or erasing skin discoloration.

Combining Fraxel with ThermaCool offers our patients a more complete option for facial rejuvenation," said Dr. Grant Stevens. Together they lift years off the face and all without surgery or painful recovery times." Combined, these two treatments offer patients excellent rejuvenation treatment previously available only by surgery or deep skin peels.

Fraxel, FDA-approved in July 2004, is a new development in laser skin programs. It produces similar results as deep chemical or laser peels without the trauma of removing layers of skin. Fraxel treats the mid-layers of skin instead of the skin surface, stimulating collagen reproduction, minimizing wrinkles and treating skin discoloration. Working similarly to a computer program, Fraxel treats skin pixel by pixel" instead of as a total surface treatment. By only treating pixels" of skin, Fraxel allows surrounding cells to remain untreated and able to help treated cells heal faster. Fraxel is the only laser treatment that is approved for all skin surfaces. In the past, laser skin treatments were limited to the face. Fraxel can be used on the face, neck, chest, back of hands and any other skin surface in need of repair.

ThermaCool operates similarly, as a noninvasive face-lift" treatment. Instead of working pixel by pixel," ThermaCool treats the deep layers of skin via radio frequencies. By targeting deep layers of the skin, new collagen fibers are generated, creating a firmer and tighter structure under sagging or wrinkled skin. Skin becomes tauter and smoother. Loose skin is pulled back into place, making it an ideal treatment along jaw lines, on the forehead and around the eyes.

I have had both treatments and couldnt be happier," said Charlie Sheridan, Director of Marina Plastic Surgery. I went through a series of treatments and the results were excellent. My skin was smooth and even, and any tell-tale lines were removed. I have had people compliment me on my beautiful skin without them knowing that I had anything done."

Both Fraxel and ThermaCool require a series of treatments. Each treatment is separated by a couple of weeks, allowing the skin to begin the healing process. By combining the treatments, patients are able to harness the strength of each, and build off of their respective strengths. Healing time periods are much shorter than traditional face lifts and skin peels, allowing patients to return to their normal lives and activities as soon as possible – looking great.
