Online Chevrolet Site Says Chevys Best Gets Better

Despite the immense success and respect of the last-generation Corvette, Chevrolet has opted to keep its trademark sports car ahead of the curve. Using with the same basic mechanicals, Chevrolet took every piece on the Corvette and revised it.

(PRWEB) May 26, 2005 -- For the first time, the Corvette has hit 400 horsepower in its most basic form – an amazing leap from the 250 it carried as recently as 1991. The still-pushrod V8 engine, now dubbed LS2," is now up to 6.0 liters, more efficient than ever, and has a higher redline of 6,500 RPM. Handling has also been sharpened, and both length and width have been trimmed for more agility. The interior got a complete overhaul to address complaints about cheapness, and the Corvette has finally ditched its old pop-up headlights.

As if this werent enough, power-hungry enthusiasts have the 2006 Corvette Z06 to look forward to. Since the base Corvette is now up to 400 horsepower, its 405 simply wont do. So Chevrolet kicked that up all the way to 500, which is sure to steal the crown from the Dodge Viper of being Americas fastest mass-produced sports car, while undercutting the $85,000 Viper by tens of thousands of dollars.
