Faultline Pictures sets up shop in Tampa, Florida with former Stock Exchange executive at the helm. Films first project at Big City Tavern in Ybor City using local talent.
(PRWEB) May 27, 2005 -- When his tenure as President and CFO of an American Stock Exchange logistics company ended last September, John Flynn decided to make movies. "I had enough of the business "grind" after twenty years." grumbled Flynn, "I've written a script every year over the past ten years and had a balloon full of air to say about most things," noted Flynn, "I see so many things that make me laugh and so many of my friends kept telling me I should follow my dream." "There were more lessons in life in making a 30 minute film then you'd find in ten years of sales, marketing and operations."
"The rapid advance of digital and HD technologies are going to change the entire entertainment system," Flynn added, "with the distribution of the Internet and the increase in cable television channels, more obscure content will find its way into view. I started out with two short films that I was fond of, and a sitcom pilot. If people like what they see, I'll take it to the next level." The first production completed by Faultline was "Stiletto's Sting," a short comedy that looks at the nature of courtship and the ritual of being smitten, completed in March in Tampa. The film featured several established young actors and some newcomers, with original music written and performed by the cast and crew.
"Stiletto's Sting" was filmed locally in Tampa in Big City Tavern in Ybor City. The film features several Floridians, including former radio personality Michelle Wargo, former WWE "Tough Enough" star Hawk Younkins, Kendra Farner and Maria Puma. Notable performers from the midwest include former P-Funk singer, Nicole Tindall, and rock and rolling star David Deau in his debut performance. The score features four original songs, including one written for and produced for the film in St Petersburg. Faultline is currently entering ‘Stilettos Sting' into the independent movie circuit with entries in such festivals as Telluride, AFI in Los Angeles and highly acclaimed Sundance. Mr. Flynn is currently working on his next project entitled "For Dear Life," to begin production in July back in New York City.
