The finishing touches have been made to the Raglan Music Festival schedule as local residents and music lovers alike eagerly look forward to opening night on Friday the 10th June. The three-day spectacular, planned to run at a variety of venues in and around Raglan village, will combine a range of musical performances from brass band to bluegrass with free, interactive learning sessions where young and old are encouraged to participate.
(PRWEB) May 29, 2005 -- Following performances by the schoolchildren at Raglan School in the afternoon, opening night on Friday the 10th gets off to a rocking start at The Beaufort Hotel with folk songwriter Tom Fairnie, rock fusion act ‘Key Buggle, and the ‘Loco All-Stars super group. Saturday night at The Beaufort features blues artist Eddie Walker, Scottish bluegrass troupe ‘Frequent Flyers, and local Raglan folks singers Catherine and Robert Atkins. The Festival reaches its climax on Sunday with a set from The Bitchpups - the hottest property in Welsh pop. Also on the Sunday night bill are Cardiff rock/reggae band ‘E.P. and – giving their first public performance ever – ‘The Committee.
Free daytime activities and performances over the weekend include the 25-piece ‘KoolKatz Jazz Band, Christian rock group ‘The Core, ‘St. Cadocs Millennium Chimes, the ‘Usk Youth Brass Band, ‘Wye Valley Chorus and ‘Sherbet Mandao. Over at the Ship and Crown, open jam sessions will run all weekend in the afternoons.
