Metores Russian Heritage Grain Vodka Wins Bronze Medal at the 2005 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Newly introduced American-made Vodka receives exceptional market welcome

Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) June 6, 2005 -- Old Russia Distillery and Spirits LLC, the first and only legal distillery in the state of Oklahoma, today announced that its flagship product Metores Russian Heritage Grain Vodka has received a bronze medal in the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, ranking it among the best vodkas in the world.

Held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on March 12-13, the 2005 San Francisco World Spirits Competition\'s expert panel of judges conducted blind taste tests, awarding medals based on taste alone. Results were released on May 26, 2005.

"Each year prestigious judges with a wide range of tasting palates review and evaluate some of the best and newest spirits in the world," noted the San Francisco World Spirits Competition director Anthony Dias Blue. We are proud to work with these judges year after year for consistent evaluation." In all, the 19 judges tasted 589 spirits from 43 countries in over 70 different spirits classifications.

This is a tremendous honor and an indication that we are doing things right," said Old Russias president and co-founder Marc Spain. To have accomplished this type of recognition during the first year of production is phenomenal."

After an initial limited release in May 2004, Metores is available only in Oklahoma, with plans to expand to the surrounding eight states within the next four years. Additional products, to include a 100 proof vodka, flavored vodkas, gin and a whiskey, are due out within the next 12 months. Sales of Metores are outperforming projections -- driven by positive response from consumers, retailers, bars and restaurants to the superb taste and premium quality.
