The DDS initiative is part of an IT strategy to promote unity across the firm, encourage cross office departmental cooperation and offer a seamless service to clients regardless of location.
Penningtons clinical negligence department, for example, is split across the Godalming and Basingstoke offices. Secretaries within the department from either office can now provide support to any fee earner (wherever they are located) in the event of absences, holidays or increased workloads. Productivity is maintained at all times and the department works as a team in a way that wasnt possible prior to the BigHand roll out. Penningtons plans to monitor the ongoing savings on temporary appointments.
