Kristi Yamaguchi Switches Role for Skating Show Olympic Medalist Nancy Kerrigan Added to the Show Kenny Rogers Featured Musical Performer

Olympic Champion Kristi Yamaguchi will change roles from the ice to the microphone for McCormick presents Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Show on October 25 in Albany, New York. She will host with friend Olympic Champion Scott Hamilton Kenny Rogers featured musical performer.

(PRWEB) June 22, 2005 -- Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi will change roles and move from the ice to the microphone of her own ‘McCormick presents Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family Show to be held October 25 in Albany, NY. She will switch to show host and television analyst along with her friend Olympic and four time World champion Scott Hamilton.

In New York recently for the Olympic Torch Relay, Yamaguchi announced the expected birth of her second child in November.

Unable to skate in October, Yamaguchi is excited to announce the addition of good friend and competitor, two-time Olympic Medalist (‘92 Bronze, ‘94 Silver), two-time (91 Bronze, 92 Silver) World Medalist Nancy Kerrigan to the lineup.

Kerrigan, who will skate in the show in place of Yamaguchi and her husband, Jerry Solomon announced the birth of their second child, Brian Solomon, born April 14 of this year. They also have an 8-year-old son, Matthew, and stepson, Clay, 16.

The show is a tribute to Yamaguchis friends and families with all of the songs dedicated to the children of the performing skaters.

Famed singer Kenny Rogers, who is the father of twins, will also be performing live with the skaters in the show.

Plenty of skating stars will appear on the ice at the Pepsi Arena in Albany including Olympic Champion Ilia Kulik, two-time Olympic gold medalist Ekaterina Gordeeva; four-time World Champion and Canadian National champion Kurt Browning, along with three-time U.S. national pairs champions Jenni Meno and Todd Sand and many more.

Representing the children on the ice will be Daria Grinkova (daughter of Olympic pairs skating champions Katia Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov).
