Englewood, CO (PRWEB) June 26, 2005 – Brian Baldwin, founder and Vice Chairman of Baxa Corporation, was selected as an Ernst & Young 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year in a ceremony Thursday evening at the Donald Seawell Ballroom of the Denver Center for Performing Arts. Baldwin, the winner for the medical and health sciences category, joined eight other award winners in six different categories for the Rocky Mountain Region. Baxa Corporation manufactures and markets devices used for mixing, handling and dispensing fluid medications; including oral unit-dosing, IV admixture, syringe infusion and multi-source solution compounding.

In his acceptance speech, Baldwin acknowledged the companys strong growth over its 30-year history and the hundreds of associates whose contributions made that achievement possible. Brian continued by thanking his wife for her continued support, noting that Entrepreneurs make very difficult spouses." He also thanked sons Greg and Jeff Baldwin, now the senior managers for Baxa Corporation, for taking on the reins and continuing the companys financial and operational success.

The nine award winners were selected from nearly 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges consisting of area leaders from business, academic and civic organizations. These regional winners are eligible for consideration for the national Entrepreneur Of The Year 2005 awards in Palm Springs, California in November.

Reflecting on the achievement Greg Baldwin, Baxa Chairman and CEO noted, The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a great recognition of Brians outstanding leadership in product development. His focus on meeting true customer needs led Baxa to be the market leader in our niche." Greg continued, Its great to see that focus and leadership acknowledged through an award of such stature."

Brian founded Baxa Corporation in 1975, with a product designed for safe and precise administration of oral medications. He holds more than 30 US and international patents, and continues to provide entrepreneurial insight and developmental direction to the business thirty years later. Today, Baxa still focuses on developing products and systems that deliver safety and efficiency for fluid drugs as it did when it was founded.
