Explore Kaleidoscopes, a new and ancient form of art, sculpture, science, therapy, and play at the 5th Annual Vermont Kaleidoscope Festival. The event runs from Friday, July 8 - Sunday, July 10, 2005 in Stowe, Vermont.

Stowe, VT (PRWEB) June 27, 2005 -- Explore a new and ancient form of art, sculpture, science, therapy, play and craft activity at the 5th Annual Vermont Kaleidoscope Festival. The event runs from Friday, July 8 - Sunday, July 10, 2005. Stowe Craft Gallery hosts the event at its Design Center building in Stowe Village, Vermont.

The schedule includes: Friday, July 8, 6-7 p.m. Welcoming wine & cheese Reception & Preview at the Stowe Inn. Meet the host staff and featured kaleidoscope makers at the Stowe Inn next door to Stowe Craft Gallery at the start of the Mountain Road, Rt. 108.

Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. & Sunday, July 10, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Kaleidoscope Show at Stowe Craft Design, 34 S. Main Street. Demonstrations, discussions, kaleidoscope viewing and sale.

Sunday, July 10, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Make a kaleidoscope class

Admission to the festival is $3.00 for the entire event except the kaleidoscope class which is $75.00 and limited to 15 people.

Festival host Stephen Fishman says, "This year, you can meet two of the nations most known kaleidoscope makers, explore "What is a kaleidoscope?" art? science? new age healing? ancient mandalla? a good investment? or a fun toy? But, whatever you think, you will feel great after holding & looking through them."   The featured kaleidoscope makers this year are Randy & Shelley Knapp from Oregon. The Knapps will demonstrate kaleidoscope and lamp working techniques throughout the show. On Sunday, they will teach a basic kaleidoscope making class. The class is limited in size. Each person in the class will create their own wood kaleidoscope to take home. The class fee is $75 and interested people may register online at www.stowecraft.com

The festival will be Vermont's and New England's largest collection of kaleidoscopes. Tiny necklace scopes to large parlor kaleidoscopes will be on display. Old favorites as well as new and one of a kind kaleidoscopes will also be available for viewing and sale.

There is an alternative for those who can't attend, and want to see the new pieces. Artist & web manager Kelly Bowden suggests "Visit our web site. I will try to put the latest items online just before and after the show. I'm also going to take some photos of the event which I'll post"

Those staying overnight may want to consider special kaleidoscope lodging packages from the Green Mountain Inn & Stowe Inn. There are more reasons to come to Stowe during this weekend. This same weekend is the Stowe Hot Air Balloon Festival and Sunday night Trapp Family Lodge will host Music in their Meadow. Parking is available at Stowe Craft Gallery, Behind the Green Mountain Inn & at the Stowe Inn.
