LifeLine Entertainment embarks on horror's "hallowed" grounds to announce its latest horror film "Hallowed."

Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) July 3, 2005 -- The indie film company revealed its latest film project today. Already tag lined as a "retro-horror" film, 'Hallowed' is a throw-back to the classic horror films of the late 70's, early 80's. The lighting, the camera angles and story simplicity are all reminiscent to the horror films of the past. The film even pays homage to John Carpenter's classic "Halloween" with a creative montage featured within the film.

"Halloween is the greatest horror film ever made," says the film's writer/director, Rocky Costanzo. "It is because of this film that I wanted to become a filmmaker. I had an opportunity to pay a small tribute to John Carpenter & Debra Hill, so I took advantage of it. I'm sure that true fans of Halloween will get a kick out of it."

Hallowed is based on a series of short films produced by LifeLine in the late 90's (Godsend - 1997 & Godsend: "The Evil Decimation - 1999) and they wanted to make a feature length film out of them. "We felt it was the right time to turn our horror story into something bigger" says Costanzo. "The Godsend shorts are practically buried with no chance for anyone to see them, so we decided to take the best parts of each film and completely remake a fresh new film." Even the title has been changed for a fresh new look.

"Hallowed" is the story about a mentally disturbed man who believes he has been sent from God to take the lives of innocent people. The film is dark in nature because of its spiritual undertones, however it is not blasphemous in any way, nor does it single out any religion. It was merely done that way to invent a unique killer. Unlike your typical man-in-a-mask psycho, Gabriel's appearance is that of a clean cut, door-to-door religious man, dressed in a white-collared shirt, black tie and dark slacks... not your average killer. But Gabriel is intelligent and very dangerous and he attacks his victims at key moments.

Rosslyn Roberson portrays the chosen one, Cassie, who is vulnerable to the killer (Gabriel). Gabriel arrives at her doorstep to read her a bible passage and quickly begins to stalk her. Andrew Martin plays Cassie's boyfriend, Shaun, a college student and top athlete. He doesn't like Gabriel and is destined to keep him away from his girlfriend. But the tables are quickly turned on Shaun when Gabriel shifts his attention from Cassie to him. Rich Hlava portrays Gabriel, the psychopathic killer on a mission. Rich was involved in the previous "Godsend" shorts and has really developed the twisted character of "Gabriel." "He gives his best Gabriel performance in this new film." says Costanzo.

Hallowed is now in post-production with plans for release this Fall near Halloween. Look for it to first play a few horror/sci-fi film festivals before any theatrical/home video release.

About LifeLine Entertainment:
LifeLine Entertainment was founded by independent filmmakers in 1998 to bring undiscovered, independent films to the home audience. President/CEO, Roy Thomasson launched LifeLine's Distribution Center in 2003 with its first film release of Return to Innocence" to the home video market, and he is aiming high with this current film. We want each film we make to reach levels that the previous film could not" explains Roy.

Despite working with distributors that can help bring their films larger audiences, LifeLine will still remain a company that is focused on producing and even acquiring low budget independent films and will always maintain full control over the titles they release.
