(PRWEB) July 11, 2005 -- Last year there was much media press regarding the "Miserable Failure" Google Bomb. When one went to Google and typed in "Miserable Failure" the Official Whitehouse webpage was #1. Yooter InterActive (who broke this story a few months ago) has a new spin on the Google Sandbox theory which is the reason why the president is ranked for the single keyword "failure' rather than "miserable failure." The inital links from last year's Google Bomb are far stronger. The links are so much stronger in fact that less links are doing far more damage.
What is the diffrence between these two keywords / phrases? Roger Wehbe, President of Yooter InterActive noted, 'About 80 million webpages.'
When the inital Google bomb took place, Google was showing only 100,000 results for the keyword 'miserable failure." When Yooter InterActive reported the new finding that the president is ranked for the keyword "failure" alone Google was showing about 80,000,000 results.
That means that the President had to beat 80,000,000 webpages in order to be considered the most relevent result for "failure." Did that many bloggers join in the Google Bomb during a non-election year as to beat out 80 million webpages?
Not really, what happened might of actually been the opposite. As bloggers post generally it's on the main page of their blog, then as they continue to post the intial post goes down and down, then finds itself on page 2, then page 3. In short after several months the inital post is now might be on page 20 of the semi-active blog. Now granted some new bloggers might of taken part of the Google Bomb, but not as much as during the heat of a presidental election.
What you are seeing is those "miserable failure" links from last year being taken out of the sandbox penality.
What is sandbox?
"Sandbox is a controversial theory among SEO experts such as myself and others in the industry. The basic theory goes that new links are discounted in strength for a timeframe measured in months. It generally affects newer sites because new sites only have new links, this is why many new sites only rank for their company name, rather than more relevent terms in their industry," Wehbe said.
However in the case of the "miserable failure" Google Bomb, those keyword links were new for the President's site. So the president only ranked for the company name which in this case was "miserable failure." Now that those links are out of sandbox, the links are now counted full force, so the president now ranks not only for "miserable failure" but now ranks for "failure" and 'miserable'. In short, the President now ranks for more 'relevent terms' because the inbound links are out of sandbox.
This is not the end of the argument over sandbox, the only group that could actually verify this is Google and they are not about to (for good reason) release the full information other than a few hints they delivered via a patent a few months ago.
"You may or may not support President George Bush, but he should be credited for bringing the Google Sandbox theory to mainstream," Wehbe said.
