New Website Re-Designs Music Industry Business Model For Aspiring Artists

(PRWEB) July 7, 2005 -- In the battle for control in the shifting landscape of the music industry, one thing is missing...the aspiring artists. Where can music fans go for the independent artists of the world?

INDIEBURN.COM is an internet-based music store. The focus of the site is to create an online community for aspiring musicians of all genres. The mission is to create a one-stop warehouse allowing music fans to discover new music from across the country and around the world. For INDIEBURN.COM, it's not about the concept of artists selling CD's in clubs, or out of the back of a van to friends and family, it's about international exposure. Music fans will finally be able to purchase digital music downloads (in MP3 format) of independent artists and labels.

Artists and independent labels sign a non-exclusive digital distribution agreement with INDIEBURN.COM in which they agree to license their music in exchange for a 50/50 split. No sign up fees. Artists' retain all rights to the music. INDIEBURN.COM has NO ownership rights to the music, just digital distribution rights.

There are a handful of companies that are online digital music stores, but the primary focus of those companies is mainstream, major label artists. Frankly, there are enough outlets for the big guys"…INDIEBURN.COM wants to be able to give the little guys" a chance to be heard," states founder and general manager, Brian Colton.

Music fans will be able to purchase full albums from aspiring artists for $8.00, EP's for $4.00. Singles will be available in some cases, but INDIEBURN.COM doesnt want the focus of the store to lie on singles, we won't make the same mistake the labels have been making for years. INDIEBURN.COM is about developing artists…not singles," stresses Mr. Colton.

Since launching on June 27th, INDIEBURN.COM has already been featured in the Business & Innovation section of The Boston Globe.

As INDIEBURN.COM grows, it will become a true music community. INDIEBURN.COM will be a place for music fans to congregate, talk about music, read daily commentary, check out samples, discover unsigned artists that are influenced by your favorite bands, pick up a free download and most importantly, join a musical revolution!
