The Web hosting and Internet services industries have a new innovative tool to help manage the costs of paid search engine traffic.

(PRWEB) July 8, 2005 -- The web hosting and Internet services industries have a new tool to help manage and understand the relative costs of paid search engine traffic. Responding to the needs of the marketplace, TechPad Agency has created a standardized index that will track the daily and running averages for the most important web hosting industry search terms. The index can be accessed at: http://www.cheaphostingdirectory.com/payperclickcomparison.html.

The Web Hosting Services Pay-Per-Click Index is a running measure of the cost to purchase search engine keyword traffic specific to the web hosting industry.

The index is calculated by referring to a standard online reference for pay-per-click traffic. Bid prices are displayed in a convenient grid for easy analysis. The bid prices quoted are for the number 3 bid position at search engines – as the first two positions were deemed to be overly volatile and did not give a true barometer of the relative pricing. The prices are measured randomly throughout the day – Monday through Friday only.

Listed in the index are the daily per-click prices for 8 component keyword phrases. Additionally, one can see the daily average and whether it is above or below the running average. This is also expressed in percentage terms.

The savings advantage to advertisers in timing their click purchases is clearly evident in the data from 6/16/05 – 7/05/05. As an example, the search phrase ‘domain registration swung from a low of just $2.12 per click on June 21 to a high of $11.29 on June 29. This represents a cost difference of nearly 450% in just a few days.

According to industry expert T. Griffin Conrad, Executive Vice President and V.P. of Marketing at http://www.IPOWER.com, "This new index is an essential tool for those needing to time their pay-per-click keyword purchases. It definitely provides that competitive edge for companies looking to lower their acquisition costs".

Web hosting traffic is traditionally among the most sought after by the marketplace, driving the cost of some keyword phrases over $10 per click.
