"Virtual Staffing" Model Offers Affordable Digital Imaging, Radiology Specialists to Rural Hospitals.

(PRWEB) July 7, 2005 -- Neurostar Solutions, developer and marketer of the innovative Virtual Radiology Network (VRN), and LocumTenens.com, a full-service recruitment firm specializing in temporary physician placement, announce a partnership to offer streamlined remote radiology staffing to LocumTenens.com clients. The new agreement will enable hospitals and imaging groups to choose offsite radiologists to read films and submit reports using Neurostars VRN.

We're thrilled we can now offer a full complement of radiology solutions to our client hospitals—particularly those in rural areas, where we place about 75 percent of our physicians," says David Roush, president of LocumTenens.com. For facilities with fewer than 300 beds, the combination of Neurostars remote-reading technology and our credentialed radiologists offers a viable and affordable answer to todays radiologist shortage."

says David Roush, president of LocumTenens.com. For facilities with fewer than 300 beds, the combination of Neurostars remote-reading technology and our credentialed radiologists offers a viable and affordable answer to todays radiologist shortage.
Roush believes the new service will be particularly attractive to facilities with too much reading volume for one radiologist but not enough for two. The clear advantage is that hospitals and group practices will now be able to choose from a larger and more diverse pool of radiology expertise than they could access locally," he says.

Virtually Moving People and Images
Neurostars VRN is a complete digital imaging reading, management and archiving solution. The next step beyond PACS, the technology is designed to power virtual radiology networks. Its unique architecture and universal workflow enable imaging centers, hospitals, and physicians offices to share imaging data with a virtual community of imaging specialists and referring physicians, helping them expand services, productivity and referrals cost-effectively.

Under the agreement, LocumTenens.com clients who select offsite physicians will have the option of utilizing Neurostars VRN at an extremely cost-effective, per-study charge. Facilities will utilize the VRN technology in-house and store their images to Neurostars offsite archive. Offsite physicians then will have immediate access to studies on a standard Internet-enabled computer and can read them and store the results back to the server as well as send reports directly to the imaging facility.

This is a win-win relationship for all parties involved," says Willie Tillery, CEO for Neurostar Solutions. Todays acute radiologist shortage has created a large need for outsourcing radiology reading. Our VRN allows medical practices to transcend geographic boundaries to take advantage of the expertise they need, resulting in better and faster reads—all with almost no set-up time or cost."
